Originally chartered in 1979, the Krewe of Aphrodite is a Greek themed ladies organization whose purpose is to promote fun and fellowship for its members by hosting an annual Mardi Gras Ball for its members.

The krewe also participates in three major parades each year: Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras, Fiesta of Five Flags, and Christmas. The krewe's parade floats are illuminated for colorful night parades and include The Arbor, Pegasus, Lyre, Temple, and Shell.

The krewe is represented by colors of white, purple, and gold. All members dress in white gowns with elegant and colorful shoulder drapes. Gold colored drapes acknowledge each year’s royalty, purple distinguishes board members, and white is for charter members. Other members wear various colors identifying the year they became members.
