This past November 6, 2019, as a beautiful sunlit day replaced the last wisps of an early morning mist, Ken Jernigan flew in the #7 two-seat Blue Angels Hornet with Blue Angels Boss and Commanding Officer of the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team, US Navy Captain Eric Doyle. Their flight path included Perdido Beach and Orange Beach to the west, Pensacola Beach to the east, and beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico while flying inverted! The F/A-18 in which Ken flew is a two-seat version of the Hornet. This twin-engined Hornet is capable of supersonic speeds up to mach 1.8. It was first flown by the Blue Angels in 1987. Ken is an Honorary Boss of the Blue Angels, one of only eleven in the entire history of the Blue Angels!
