The Sneak Pass is normally performed by the #5 jet, but as these photos show it is sometimes performed by others. Always a huge crowd pleaser, the high-speed pass is flown at 50 ft. above the water at 700mph; just 61mph below Mach 1. That works out to over 1,000 ft. per second!

As the pilot passes over the pier he clears the area in a climbing right turn.

Depending on the humidity and other factors, vapor trails and cones often occur during this maneuver and are fantastic to observe. Learn more about them by clicking here.
