The annual Blues at the Beach performances could not be held without support ships from the US Coast Guard. They serve as a spotting point for the various aerial performances and ensure that other boats are clear of the acrobatic areas. On this day, rain and lightning closed in from the Northwest, causing the Blue Angels to cut their practice session short.
