The BLUE ANGELS performed at Pensacola Beach, Florida the weekend of July 7-10, 2021. The weekend was officially heralded as the RED, WHITE, and BLUES ON THE BEACH. Performances by the Blue Angels included an Orientation and Greeting on Wednesday, rehearsals on Thursday and Friday, and their "official" show on Saturday.
Saturday, the crowds were so large that by 7:00am there was virtually no public parking available anywhere on the beach. We were told some paid lots were charging $100 or more to park for the day! Fortunately, our group had rented a condo for the week at the Beach Club. We were within walking distance to various dining and refreshment spots, including the famous Sandshaker. Our fifteenth floor, 32 foot long balcony provided us with a near perfect spot to view not only the Blues, but also the various other military and civilian fly-bys and aerobatic shows.
Several words came to me, which I believe accurately describe the Blue Angels performances; majestic, powerful, perfection, and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. What a combination!
Most of all, I truly believe the Blue Angels performances exemplify TEAMWORK. Were I the author of Webster's Dictionary, there would be a photo of the Blue Angels next to the definition of that word.
