RED, WHITE, and BLUES ON THE BEACH AIRSHOW. PENSACOLA BEACH, FLORIDA. This year Fat Albert was replaced with a newer model, a C-130J. The old Albert had flown with the Blue Angels for 17 seasons and 30,000 hours. The new Albert was purchased from the UK's Royal Air Force.

Fat Albert is operated by USMC pilots and aircrew and is flown to airshow locations packed with spare parts, supplies, luggage, and Blue Angel maintenance and support crews. Albert traditionally begins each airshow with a low altitude flyby that always excites the crowds. The new Albert is also joined by new F/A-18 Super Hornets.
