The Sacred Way of the Ming Tombs is located in a valley and is the location where emperors chose as their burial place. We walked along the beautifully manicured and tree lined avenue to the tombs. The avenue is lined with 18 pairs of massive sculptures including elephants, lions, camels, and mythical beasts. The Great Red Gate is one of the largest stone archways in China.
