There was an eclectic group of helicopters and airplanes that flew along the beach each day. Included were US Navy TH-57 Sea Ranger helicopters, which are used to train pilots at Whiting Field. This may be the last year they will be seen as Leonardo TH-73A helicopters have begun to replace them.
Also seen were the Gulf Coast Magni Gyro team with their colorful M24 Orion gyroplanes. Vintage Navy T-6 (SNJ) planes flew several passes each day. They were used as advanced trainers for pilots in WW II.
