Our visit to Abu Simbel was one of my personal favorites. One of the reasons was for their detail, inside and outside. That these temples were relocated because their original resting place would be flooded by the building of the Aswan Dam fascinated me. Although cut into over 1,000 blocks, when reassembled they were as originally built, inside and outside!
