Medinet Habu was the mortuary temple of Raamesses III and is located on the West Bank of the Nile River near Luxor. Temples such as this one were built to commemorate the reign of a pharaoh. It is one of the largest memorial temples in all of Egypt, measuring about 1050 ft. by 650 ft. overall.
