Our adventure in Egypt included four days on the Riverboat "Movenpick MS Royal Lotus". We sailed leisurely from Luxor to Aswan and watched as dozens of other riverboats either passed us or we passed them. I was told that there are over 400 Riverboats that travel up and down the Nile during the tourist season. Some of those that passed us looked really nice, while others not so much. Our riverboat was listed as a 5 start boar and consisted of four decks, 62 staterooms, a sun deck, swimming pool, and dining and lounge areas. It also included a gym, which I never saw used (quite frankly, after all the walking on our various tours, I don't think anyone needed it). At the various places we stopped for touring, the boats would tie up to an available space on the river's edge. At times, they would tie up to each other, sometimes extending out three to five boats. Unless we happened to be the first to a dock, we were required to pass through the other boats to reach shore.
