THE PYRAMIDS OF GIZA: We began our journey in Egypt by traveling from Cairo to nearby Giza for a tour the Great Pyramids, which are listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Norma and Sue went deep inside Kfuhu's Pyramid to view a burial chamber as Pete and I dutifully waited outside. This Pyramid is the largest of three located in Giza at 481 ft. in height. Tragedy stuck our group as one tour member fell on the pyramid blocks while descending from the chamber entrance back down to the ground. He suffered very serious injury to his head and face and required an extended stay in a Cairo hospital before he could return home to the U.S., hopefully to a full recovery.

Ever the intrepid adventurers, Norma and Sue rode camels (Clyde I and Clyde II) into the nearby desert as I snapped away with my camera. Watching them get on and off the camels was a hoot! We then toured the Great Sphinx, which is over 4,500 years old! It measures over 240 ft. in length, is 66 ft. tall, and 63 ft. wide. View the Pyramids at night by clicking here.
