TEMPLE of HORUS af EDFU and BUGGY RIDE. Our tour of Horus began and ended with a buggy ride at our riverboat. This well-preserved shrine, located in Edfu on the West Bank of the Nile River, includes countless carvings depicting the power and grandeur of the pharaohs. The inscriptions on its walls provide information on languages, myths, and religion during the Hellenistic period in Egypt. Construction of this temple began in 237 B.C.
